The Ghosts of Philadelphia

bulletEastern State Penitentiary - historic prison is open for tours March to November. Daytime tours and special Halloween tours available. Eastern State has been featured on multiple haunted TV programs. A must see! Located at:

        N. 22nd Street and Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA  19130. Phone: (215) 236-3300 or visit:                     www.easternstate.org

bulletThe General Wayne Inn - located at 625 Montgomery Ave, Merion, PA 19066 is no longer operated as an Inn or restaurant, but is definitely haunted.  It was built in 1704 and has underground passage ways that were used during the Revolutionary War. It is rumored to be haunted by Hessian Soldiers, as well as possibly a more recent murdered business partner. The Inn is now privately owned by a religious organization.

bulletLooking for ghosts on the battlefield ? Check out Devil's Den, the triangle field, any farm house structure as these were used as field hospitals, or just about any place....
bulletMany churches in town were used as make shift hospitals. Suggest taking a walking tour offered through the National Park Service.  Special church tours are offered in the summer.
bulletMany organizations offer ghost tours of Gettysburg. Unfortunately or fortunately, ghosts have become a big business in Gettysburg. Take all info with a grain of salt - lots of tales are fiction. To find ghosts, I suggest you follow your intuition.
